Expeditions and Outdoor Adventure

Boys looking for info about this year’s activities, please see SGS in the menu above. The blurb below is for schools looking to expand their outdoor programme.

We are an Approved Activity Provider for the Expedition Section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We have an AALA licence and offer all three levels of the award.

The company was formed to allow the expedition programme organised by Jason Buckley, an teacher at Sutton Grammar School, to continue after he left the school. Three members of the instructor team are old boys of the school who have come through the expedition programme, which has expanded to include 230 boys this year.

We are looking to work with one or two new schools this year, ideally places where we can help to build your in house capacity for expedition leadership. (e.g. we would help you run Bronze for a few years while training up your staff, and then add Silver DofE while supporting you to run your own Bronze expeditions).

We will be running a BEL course starting in February, which will draw on 70+ expeditions of experience.

As you can see, we’re too busy running expeditions at the moment to have given the website much love. But get in touch and whether or not you end up using us to help your programme, we can send you a free e-book on running expeditions while preserving your sanity as a classroom teacher. Becoming a DofE Award Leader is a bit like taking the King’s Shilling, and people are often put in a position where growing numbers of young people want to participate, without the staff capacity keeping pace. We have a team of well trained and skilful insturctors who can take the pressure off you.
